My name is Liza Torres. I am a First Grade teacher at the most amazing school in NISD, McAndrew Elementary. After graduating from UTSA, (Go Roadrunners!) my husband, Rey and I moved to Laredo, Texas where I began my teaching career. I was able to learn some Spanish and made many lasting memories during my 3 years teaching Kindergarten in Laredo. I have also taught 1st and 2nd grade for 7 years in Northside. Since beginning my teaching career, my family has grown. Rey and I have three wonderfully active boys, and an even more energetic dog named Scout. We enjoy spending time outdoors, camping, fishing, and swimming at the lake. On weekends, I spend my time cheering on my boys who play soccer, football, and run track or watching movies and relaxing with a good book.
My life motto is simple, something I learned from a NFL quarterback...:"Always Persevere, always have a great Perspective, and always have great Purpose in your life."
I look forward to a FABULOUS year!!!
